25 Years of Caring & Coaching
I’m Justine Inglis, a dedicated professional with 24 years of experience in nursing and wellness coaching. My journey began in New Plymouth, New Zealand, and has taken me across Australia, where I've gained invaluable insights in various healthcare settings. I believe in the power of clear communication, integrity, and respect in promoting health and wellness for every individual.

My Story
With over 24 years of experience in nursing and wellness, my journey has taken me from the heart of New Zealand to rural and metropolitan Australia. Inspired by personal loss and guided by my nana’s legacy, I found healing through helping others. From hospitals to training defense medics, and now into wellness coaching, every step has shaped the way I serve today—with empathy, integrity, and respect.
My Journey Through the Years
2001
Nursing Roots in New Zealand
I began my nursing training in New Plymouth, New Zealand, in July 2001. My journey into nursing was deeply personal, sparked by the loss of significant family members: my father, my paternal grandmother, and my mother, Peggy Inglis, who was my greatest inspiration. I had the privilege of nursing my father through his battle with cancer, and just four weeks later, I was at the bedside of my nana Peggy as she passed away from a stroke.
At just 22 years old, I became a young carer for my nana after her first stroke, which led to a three-month hospitalization. I supported her through the difficult transition into aged care—a decision neither of us truly wanted, but one that life circumstances made unavoidable. It was a painful time; I often cried myself to sleep, knowing how hard it was for her. My nana and I were incredibly close—we had even shared a room from the time I was a baby until I was 11. With my father working overseas, the weight of these decisions fell heavily on me, but they also helped shape the compassionate caregiver I’ve become today.
2004
A Bold Move to Australia
After completing my nursing exams, I moved to Australia in 2004—without even knowing if I had officially passed! Thankfully, I did. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in my career, filled with growth, resilience, and opportunity.
2005
Graduate Year at The Alfred Hospital
In 2005, I began my graduate year at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where I specialized in respiratory management and cystic fibrosis. This experience gave me strong clinical foundations and deepened my compassion for patients dealing with chronic illness.
2006
Outback Healing in NSW
Seeking space to recover from the emotional demands of nursing, I took a break in 2006 and worked as a Rousey with a shearing team in rural New South Wales. This break from healthcare gave me clarity, balance, and renewed energy.
2007
Return to Nursing at Echuca
Later in 2007, I returned to nursing at Echuca Regional Health, where I worked in aged care and acute settings. Though my time there lasted just six months, it reaffirmed my calling to serve and support others in healthcare.
2008–2020
Beechworth and Beyond
From 2008 to 2020, I worked at Beechworth Health Service in Victoria for 12 years as a versatile RN. My roles spanned urgent care, acute medical, aged psychiatric, district nursing, and palliative care. During this period, I also held roles at Myrtleford Hospital, Ramsay Health Wodonga (oncology and rehab), and worked as a Practice Nurse in Albury, NSW. These years were rich in experience and deeply shaped my holistic approach to care.
2013
Becoming a Trainer & Assessor
In 2013, I expanded my role in healthcare by becoming a Trainer & Assessor at Wodonga TAFE and then assisting the Australian Defence Force with an enrolled nursing certificate. I supported medics in achieving their Diploma of Enrolled Nursing, helping them develop the skills needed to administer care and medication in the field, work that brought me great pride.
Present
Transitioning to Wellness Coaching
Today, with over two decades of experience in nursing and training, I have transitioned into wellness coaching. I’m no stranger to health battles—having survived and thrived through a rare condition called PKU and a breast cancer journey. These experiences, along with the mental and emotional struggles that came with them, shaped who I am today. Justine’s Therapies was born from my own healing journey and the desire to share what truly worked for me—to help others not just recover, but truly heal and thrive, no matter what life throws their way. I now support individuals on their own healing journeys—combining medical knowledge, empathy, and real-life wisdom to empower people to take charge of their wellness and rediscover balance in their lives.
